Music
The music classes at 277Q aim to actively involve the students in meaningful music experiences that develop music concepts and skills appropriate to each individual functioning level. Some of the class topics include music history, music theory, concert etiquette, improvisation, and applied music through singing and playing instruments. Our music teachers are members of an organization called Little Kids Rock, which provides the school with modern band curricular resources as well as brand new instruments.
Vocational Education
The Riverview School's Vocational Program began in 2013. Our goal is to prepare and motivate students of all different levels to pursue entry into the world of work through classroom preparation, in school job participation, and community based programs that promote "learning on the job". We strive to help students develop the skills they need to become as independent as possible so they can meet the challenges of education, work and life.
Physical Education
Physical education at The Riverview School is about meeting the unique needs of individual students with disabilities. In Physical Education, our teachers provide planning and assessment, consultation, specialized instruction, and adapts or modifies the curriculum, task, equipment, and/or environment so your child can participate in all aspects of physical education.
